Stresssssed? Let us help you relax with Reiki(Ray
Key) Reiki Healing Energy SystemREIKI is a universal life force energy that is used
for hands on healing. The Usui form which is taught in the United States today originated in Japan with Dr. Usui. He went
to Kurama-yama mountains just north of Kyoto, Japan to meditate and came away with the Reiki energy system. He passed this
healing energy on to other masters. One master, Dr. Chujiro Hayashi, in turn passed the energy system to Mrs. Hawayo Takata
who in turn brought the energy to the United States. There are many
stories about the travels of Dr. Usui but not much of the story can be substantiated. There is a poor recording in Mrs. Takata's
voice telling her understanding of the history of how Dr. Usui first discovered Reiki. Reiki is a simple hands-on healing modality that is becoming very popular in the world. Increasingly,
reiki is getting more attention from medical practitioners and several hospitals in the US have now incorporated reiki in
their programs. The term reiki is a combination of two Japanese words: rei, which means "spiritually guided" and ki, which is the Japanese word for "energy." Reiki was re-introduced
to the world by the Japanese spiritual seeker Mikao Usui in the late 1800s after a lengthy period of fasting and meditation. Reiki is one of the most simple hands-on healing modality in the world and is also one of
the most effective. No wonder then, that doctors and nurses are now beginning to study and use reiki to help patients heal
faster. One of the first to include a reiki practitioner
in his department at The Columbia Presbyterian Medical Centre in New York City was Dr. Mehmet Oz.. Dr. Mehmet Oz is one of
the leading cardiovascular surgeons in the United States. The New York Times Magazine reported that Dr. Oz has allowed the
use of reiki during open heart surgeries and heart transplant operations. Says Dr. Oz: "Reiki has become a sought-after
healing art among patients and mainstream medical professionals." Two other hospitals in New York, namely Manhattan Eye, Ear and Throat Hospital and Memorial Sloane Kettering
Hospital have also embraced reiki. Marilyn Vega is a nurse who has given reiki sessions to patients in both hospitals. "Reiki
sessions cause patients to heal faster with less pain," Reiki is not an insurance
policy against living in an unhealthy manner. Rather, Reiki will support you in actively promoting your general improvement. In short, you will make the most of Reiki by following the other accepted principles of healthy living too.
Why there is a fee for Reiki
Dr.
Usui originally performed healings for free in the poor sections of Kyoto Japan. Among other things, he used Reiki to help
beggars find jobs, return to work and leave the life of begging behind. He was disappointed when he saw that many of the people
he had helped eventually returned to begging. After questioning the beggars and meditating on the problem, he came up with
a solution. He believed that without attaching a fee to the service, the value of the treatments was
not appreciated. It is easy to understand. Most people readily accept the responsibility of protecting an item for which they
have paid a high price, but are less inclined to protect something for which they paid nothing. So, he closed his practice
and began traveling throughout Japan teaching the Reiki healing system to others, with the understanding that Reiki power
should not be given away for free.
